30 Years of Events

Our Story

What better way to meet girls than to become a DJ? That’s what was on 18-year-old Kevin Dennis’ mind in 1989. Turns out he had a knack for it! By 1995, Fantasy Sound made it official with its first storefront in downtown Livermore. Primarily serving corporate events, the new space allowed Kevin to expand the company, adding videography, A/V rentals, and basic lighting services to the mix.

Several years, countless events, and one move later, Kevin began exploring an untapped market just waiting to be discovered: weddings! By the dot-com bubble burst in the early ‘00s, the Fantasy Sound team had fully shifted to serve in the wedding industry. Kevin had always loved weddings, and at the time, Livermore Wine Country was booming with venues popping up everywhere — it was the perfect storm of opportunity!

More growth spurred a third move in 2009, this time with a warehouse to store our growing inventory. The extra space allowed Fantasy Sound to expand into event lighting and décor, which is now our flagship service. (Chandeliers are massive!) Within several years, we added drapery and photo booths to our inventory. 

In 2015, we shifted our focus to creating custom items in response to market demand. Before long, our warehouse was full to the brim, so we made one final move in 2016 to a larger space, which we currently call home. (Our warehouse still has plenty of room, so we’re always innovating new additions to our inventory!) 

Today, we serve events of all types and remain committed to the Tri-Valley wedding industry. We love celebrating love on an everyday basis, and we can’t wait to help make your dreams come true!
