Crooked Vine and Stony Ridge Winery

Recently, Carole Wigren from the Crooked Vine and Stony Ridge Winery in Livermore, California, gave me a tour of their completely renovated event space. They have done an amazing job with their renovation and Crooked Vine and Stony Ridge Winery would be a great place to have a wedding or special event. Their barrel room, with large hand carved oak barrels, is perfect for a candlelit dinner and dancing, and can accommodate up to 75 people. Their Garden Terrace offers a lovely lawn wedding site with gazebo, as well as a lighted patio for outdoor dining and dancing for up to 200 people. Although they do not cater their events, you can choose from 7 of their preferred caterers and they provide all of their award winning wines. We are also one of their preferred vendors for DJ, Videography, Equipment Rentals, and Event Lighting. I am really looking forward to working at the Crooked Vine and Stony Ridge Winery in the future. Philip and Jennifer’s Wedding, Hacienda de las Flores

I was the DJ for Philip and Jennifer’s great wedding at the Hacienda de las Flores in Moraga on May 09, 2009. This was the first time that I had ever worked at Hacienda de las Flores. It is a romantic Spanish-style estate. Phillip and Jennifer had their ceremony outside in the lawn area and the reception was on a patio that had a beautiful fountain in the middle. Hacienda de las Floras also has a beautiful pavilion area where Philip and Jennifer took their photos after the ceremony. I also had the privilege of working with several fine wedding vendors for the first time. The wedding was coordinated by Christina Crawford from the Union Street Catering Company, the caterer was Wild Thyme Catering (their food was so good!), Melissa Campos from Captured Photography was the photographer, and Andrew Hsu from Studio MSV was the Videographer. What a great group of professionals! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding Philip and Jennifer, and best wishes for the future!

Ode to the Middle School Dances

I have been DJing at middle school dances throughout the Bay Area since 1986 and when I started Fantasy Sound Event Services in 1989, school dances were my main focus. Since then, we have grown to specialize in all kinds of events, including: weddings, corporate, and social events. It just hit me at the recent Hillview Middle School dance in Menlo Park that I have been DJing middle school dances for over 23 years and I still truly enjoy them. The kids are at an age were I can still play games and have a lot of fun with them. They really like doing the Snowball Dance, Hula Hoop contest, Cha Cha Slide, as well as Conga lines and trains. I can even get them to do the Hokey Pokey, Chicken Dance, or Macarena from time to time. I am looking forward to the rest of the end-of-the-year dances.

I would like to thank WIPA (Wedding Industry Professional Association) for asking us to sponsor their meeting on May 06, 2009 at Casa Real in Pleasanton. Fantasy Sound Event Services provided the AV equipment rentals and the videography for their meeting. The topic of the meeting was “Being Green is Easy”. The guest speaker was Mireya Navvarro, an environmental writer for the New York Times and the author of Green Wedding: Planning Your Eco-Friendly Celebration. This was a very informative meeting about going green within the wedding industry.

Devil Mountain Run Recap
May 5th
Last Sunday was the Workday Devil Mountain Run in Downtown Danville. The morning started off dry but just as the gun went off at the start the rain came down. The rain could not stop all from running either 5k or 10k. Many people came out to support the cause and get a little morning run in. Following the 5k and 10k race the kids had their Fun Run. We had a good amount of kids participate even with the not so good conditions. Fantasy Sound provided all the audio for the races as well as the Emcee for the 5k and Kids Fun Run. We would like to thank Rhodyco Productions for another successful race.
Workday Devil Mountain Run

Our DJ Nicholas Lehr will be MCing the 5K finish line as well as the Kids’ Fun Run. Come be a part of the fun!
Workday Devil Mountain run is the oldest continuous running event in the East Bay, Devil Mountain Run 5K/10K attracts approximately 3,000 participants and is now a tradition for Children’s Hospital Oakland. Top competitive runners, groups, and runners sponsored by local businesses strut their stuff alongside kids and families. Even walking enthusiasts find their pace on one of the two flat and fast courses that run along Danville’s idyllic Iron Horse Trail. All entry fees benefit Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland.
