Livermore Valley Wine Growers Auction
May 10th
This past Saturday, May 7th, we had the opportunity and privilege to provide the Sound, Event Lighting, Drapery, and DJ the 17th Annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction! One of our favorite wineries, Wente, played a huge role in this year’s event, by graciously donating their Barrel Room as the event’s venue. All the funds raised in the auction went to benefit the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation, Open Heart Kitchen, and the ValleyCare Foundation Mobile Health Unit. Click here to read more about this wonderful annual event!
Thank you to the Livermore Wine Growers Association for having us be a part of this amazing and chartitable event.
We had a great time!
Emerald Across the Bay 12K
Mar 23rd
This past Sunday, March 20th, Fantasy Sound Event Services provided the sound for the 28th annual Emerald Across the Bay 12k event. Marshall was there bright and early to help set up, and he took every opportunity to have a little fun with the mascots that were there.
Looks like he had a great time, doesn’t it?
A Bridal Faire Tip…
Mar 8th
We have been working an abundance of Bridal Faires recently, and it got us thinking about ways to make the whole experience smoother for all the brides that are participating. Bridal Faires are an amazing opportunity to check out all the vendors in your area, and gain an idea for what services you are going to want to book at your wedding. They also get you to sign up for a LOT of stuff—you sign up to receive information, win contests, etc. At the Fantasy Sound Event Services booth, we offer $100.00 Gift Certificates! If you want to save yourself some time and writers’ cramp (not to mention avoiding being one of those brides who hogs booth space), bring a sheet of pre-printed address labels that include all your information, so you don’t have to waste any time writing.
Just slap a label on their mailing list or entry form and move on. This will also give you more time to actually talk to their vendors, and get to know them a little bit. If you are feeling rushed having to write down all of your information, chances are you won’t be able to gather as much information from them. The labels should include at least your name, the groom’s name, your wedding date, and your email address. If you don’t want vendors calling you, do not put your phone number on the label. Giving them your phone number means you give them permission to call you, so if you would rather deal with email, feel free to just put your email address. Same thing goes for your address. If you don’t want them to send you information, don’t put your address on the label. More and more brides have been doing this at the Bridal Faires we have been attending, and we think it is genius! Not only can you personalize the labels, and make them as cute or as simple as you want, but it will simplify your whole day. While scouring the web for some reasonably priced labels, I stumbled upon www.myweddinglabels.com, and it offers thousands of options, if you want to dress up your label a bit. If simple is more your style. Avery offers blank labels that you can print from home. As I have said before, this is a great idea for Bridal Faires, and we highly recommend everyone implementing it. Why not use this time-saving technique when you stop by our booth at the Modern Bridal Faire this upcoming Sunday, March 13th, at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco? I promise it will make your Bridal Faire experience smoother, and much more enjoyable too!
Congratulations Meghan and Luke!
Feb 23rd
This past weekend, on Saturday February 19th, our DJ Nick had the opportunity to DJ the wedding of Meghan Spillane and Luke McMurray. The wedding and reception was held at the beautiful Palm Event Center in the Vineyard on a rainy evening, but as we all know rain on a wedding day is good luck! Meghan and Luke tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the Estate Room, where the background music was provided by “Elegant Touch of Strings”. After the ceremony the guests moved into the Grand Ballroom to enjoy cocktail hour and the entertainment of a Photo Booth. The Ballroom was decorated in a simple and elegant color scheme of white on white. To help anchor the color palette, Jinger from The Flower House provided stunning flower arrangements, which really popped against the white backdrop. After dinner the party began. Meghan and Luke cut the cake provided by Primrose Bakery and laughed as they smashed into each other’s faces. Luke and Meghan shared their first dance as husband and wife to “Steady As We Go” by The Dave Matthews Band. All the guests had a blast tearing it up on the dance floor with the bride and groom, dancing to songs by Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and Journey. The night finally came to an end for the newlyweds, as they were hoisted up into the air for the last dance.
Thank you so much Meghan and Luke for letting us be a part of your special day! We wish you all the best!

Tri- Valley Wedding Professionals New Year’s Networking Event
Feb 16th
On January 25th, we had the pleasure of being the lighting sponsors for the Tri-Valley Wedding Pros New Years Networking Event at the Palm Event Center. It was a fun night and a wonderful opportunity for all the Wedding Professionals in the Tri-Valley to get to know one another better. The event had live music provided by Sugar Rush, and everybody was definitely enjoying the atmosphere. Other vendors offered their services and sponsorship as well:
Photos- Lori Rittinger
Flowers- The Flower House
Video- Amos Productions
Linens- Napa Valley Linens
Audio- Thor Audio Solutions
Venue, Food, & Drinks- The Palm Event Center
Lori actually posted a video slideshow of all the pictures she took on her website. You can tell that everybody was having a great time. Take a look!
We also took the opportunity to experiment with some of our new décor ideas. Nick has been toying around with using lampshades and table lamps in different capacities, and this is what he came up with. Introducing…The Shade Lamp!
We also used some interesting looking table lamps, to add an eclectic feel to the event. They looked really nice next to the floral arrangements!
What A Memorable January 29th
Feb 11th
On Saturday, January 29th, we had the opportunity to DJ 2 different weddings. Nick DJed and we also provided the lighting for the Julia Criswell and Kenny Verschelden wedding at Casa Real, and Kevin DJed the Kathleen Godkin and Andrew Adams wedding at Wente.
The Criswell/Vershelden ceremony was held in the Amber Room, and the lighting design they chose really helped to transform the room. They put the “Dream Grill” wash over the walls, and had a custom monogram projected over the fireplace. The couple went with a black and champagne color palette, which added an elegant and retro feel to the entire wedding. The day was overcast, but the champagne uplights and washes made the Amber Room feel warm and inviting. Karl from Delford West provided the flowers, and Draper Photography was on hand to capture all the special moments.
The reception moved to the Grand Salon, and it was very much a celebratory and upbeat atmosphere. The bride and groom shared the first dance to “Glitter in the Air” by Pink, and the lyrics to that song resonated with all the guests, and everyone agreed it was the perfect song for this couple. Take a listen for yourself!
Across town at Wente, Kevin DJed the Godkin/Adams wedding, and since they only had 75 guests, they were able to hold the ceremony inside the Cresta Blanca Room. After the ceremony the room was changed over for cocktails and dancing. The couple chose a lavender and champagne color palette, and we provided the champagne uplights, which made the room cozy and intimate.
Kevin had a blast DJing the reception. It was a small group of people, but they were tearing up the dance floor! Kathleen and Andrew had a chance to do a lot of dancing, and you could tell they were enjoying every minute of it. Kathleen and her father danced to two songs for the Father/Daughter dance. The first song was more of a traditional song, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by IZ and after playing about a 1 and ½ minutes of that song, Kevin transitioned to “Benny and the Jets” by Elton John. John (the Father of the bride) used to sing and dance with her while she was growing up, and it was heartwarming to witness such a special moment. After about a minute into this song, her mom, brother and sister spontaneously joined them on the dance floor. The family danced as one big group. and it was a really beautiful moment for them and the rest of the guests.
When it was time for the bride and groom to share their first dance as a couple, they chose “Just Breathe” by Pearl Jam. This was the first time that Kevin had ever had a bride and groom select this song for their first dance and it was absolutely perfect for this couple.
Several guests were shocked to find out Pearl Jam sang the song, as it was incredibly romantic and tender. Check it out for yourselves:
Thanks so much to both Julia and Kenny, and Kathleen and Andrew for letting us be a part of your special day. We wish you all the best in the future!
Karmen and Calvin’s Wedding at Casa Real
Feb 2nd
Karmen Li and Calvin Lu were married on Saturday, January 8th in a beautiful ceremony at Casa Real at the Ruby Hill Winery. They exchanged vows in the Amber Room, and it was truly an elegant sight to behold. Carl of Delford West Flowers and Gifts provided the bride’s beautiful bouquet and all of the floral arrangements. Amanda, of Chasing Glimpses was able to photograph some spectacular images throughout the evening. Our wonderful videographers, Fallan and Jillian, were there as well to capture all the unforgettable moments from the evening.
The reception was held in the Grand Salon, and although the day was cloudy and wintry, the color palette of green and yellow really helped to brighten the atmosphere inside. Our very own Gaby Weiman served as the DJ and MC for the reception, and she made sure to get everybody on the dance floor. Karmen and Calvin shared their first dance as a couple to “You and Me” by Lifehouse. It was a simply choreographed waltz, but absolutely breathtaking to watch. Karmen and her Father shared a dance to “Greased Lightning”. The Father of the Bride was wearing a tuxedo t-shirt, and you could tell that the two of them were having an absolute blast cutting a rug together! Before long, the entire bridal party joined in and they all finished the dance together. It was a really neat moment!
Thank you so much Karmen and Calvin for inviting us to be a part of your special day and we wish you all the best!
