Chad and Jaimi Critten’s Wedding at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek
Oct 13th
I had the pleasure of being the DJ at the wedding of Chad and Jaimi at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek, California. I have known Jaimi since high school; nothing makes you start to feel your age like DJing the wedding of an underclassman of yours! Chad and Jaimi had their ceremony in the gazebo in the rose garden at Heather Farms. It was such a beautiful location to have a ceremony. I had the pleasure of working with Renee Powell, with Delightful Occasions. She was such an easy wedding coordinator to work with. She always made sure I knew what was going on. I also had the pleasure of working with Katie from Gardner Photography & Design. She was also incredibly easy to work with and I always knew where she was. When it came time to the first dance, Chad had picked the song “Then” by Brad Paisley. It was supposed to be a surprise for Jaimi but he told her the week before the wedding. Everyone had a great time dancing. At Heather Farms there is a wall of windows, and the guests lined up on both sides of the windows and danced with each other. I want to congratulate Chad and Jaimi on their special wedding day.

The Wedding of Christoph and Lanelle at Rios Lovell Winery in Livermore, California
Sep 1st
I had the pleasure of DJing Christoph and Lanelle’s wedding on June 6, 2009 at Rios Lovell Winery in Livermore, California. The ceremony took place at the gazebo overlooking the vineyard in full bloom; it looked amazing. Karl Eckel, from Delford West Flowers, did the flowers for the wedding. The flowers he placed around the gazebo were stunning. He also added flowers to the cake and turned the cake from ordinary to astonishing. I was able to work with Erica Ramos from Erica Foto in San Francisco, California. They were so much fun to work with. When it came time to do the bouquet and garter toss, all of the brides’ single friends said they didn’t want to do the bouquet toss. Lanelle wanted to throw the bouquet, so she decided not to have Christoph toss her garter. Instead, she decided to throw the bouquet to the single guys. Everyone had a smile on their face when I made the announcement and the guys all went for the bouquet. The only catch was that the guy who caught it had to give it to one of the single ladies. I want to wish Christoph and Lanelle the best of luck and hope they have a great time on their honeymoon on the Cook Islands.

Peter and Elaine’s Wedding at Casa Real in Pleasanton, California.
Jul 16th
I was the DJ at Peter and Elaine’s wedding on June 28, 2009 at Casa Real in Pleasanton, California. The ceremony took place outside in the courtyard. The temperature was around 108 degrees, but Nicole Ha from Nicole Ha Floral and Event Design still managed to make the ceremony site look amazing. Nicole waited until the last minute to take the flowers outside. She had made an archway out of hydrangeas and, to make sure the flowers looked their best, had her assistant spray the flowers down with water until the start of the ceremony. Peter had asked his long-time friend to be the officiant and his friend did an excellent job. Before the formal dances started, Peter and Elaine presented a slideshow that they had made. I have to say I was very impressed; not only did they have the photos, but the had filmed each member of their bridal party and had them say a couple of words. The newly weds didn’t want to have a traditional first dance, so they mixed it up. I started with “Love Of My Life” by Jim Brickman, then switched it up to the chorus of “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga. When I started it, they looked at each other like they didn’t know what was going on and then they turned to face their guests and did a dance that Peter is known for doing. After the chorus I went back to “Love Of My Life” to finish off their first dance. The photographer was Rebecca Stark. It was my first time working with her and she was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional and, when she took the bride and groom away to take photos, made sure that I knew where they were going. I look forward to working with her again. I want to wish Peter and Elaine the best of luck with their future together.

Jeff and Jen’s Wedding, Wente Vineyards
Jul 9th
I was the DJ for Jeff and Jen’s wedding at Wente Vineyards in Livermore on May 24, 2009. The ceremony and reception were going to be outside on the Terrace Lawn at Wente Vineyards, but it was a little too cold and windy outside; so, they moved the reception indoors to the Cresta Blanca Event Center. Even with the last minute change, the wedding was gorgeous and went off without a hitch. The wonderful staff at Wente served an outstanding dinner and made a unique, creative cake. The photographer was Karen Bates of Art of Photography by Karen Bates; she was a pleasure to work with. Jeff and Jen choreographed their first dance to the song “Lost In This Moment” by Big & Rich; they did an excellent job. Jeff went out of his way to find a special song to dance with his mom to during the Mother/Son Dance. He found a unique song from T Carter Music called “A Mother’s Song.” Once the dancing started, the guests got out of their chairs, hit the dance floor, and got their groove on. After the garter toss, one of the single males told the groom that he thought that he was taking off the bride’s underwear (not the garter) and everyone got a laugh; it was his very first wedding. I want to congratulate Jeff and Jen on a wonderful wedding and wish them a wonderful future together.

John and Amanda’s Wedding, Palm Event Center
Jun 30th
In addition to hiring FSES for videography, John and Amanda hired me to be the DJ for their wedding on May 29, 2009 at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton, California. The morning of the 29th, they had a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Michaels Church in Livermore, California. It was a small, intimate ceremony for the family. John and Amanda then had a second ceremony on the patio at the Palm Event Center for their friends and family. The bride had designed the ballroom at the Palm Event Center to look like Cinderella’s Ball. The Palm Event Center staff set up two buffets that went with the chosen theme. I was able to work with Sylvain Gentile for the first time. Wow, what can I say? His work was amazing! Sylvain also took photos from the ceremony, placed them on his laptop, and made a slideshow for everyone to see at the bar. Amanda wanted to do something different for the Father/Daughter dance; she had me play two songs. They started off slow dancing to the song “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw and then I turned on “Honky Tonk Man” by Dwight Yokum, where they danced country swing. After the cake cutting, the party started and everyone danced the night away. I really believed they could have gone all night. Instead of going on a honeymoon, John and Amanda bought a house where they will be relaxing for the next week. Congratulations, John and Amanda! I wish the two of you the best of luck.

Devil Mountain Run Recap
May 5th
Last Sunday was the Workday Devil Mountain Run in Downtown Danville. The morning started off dry but just as the gun went off at the start the rain came down. The rain could not stop all from running either 5k or 10k. Many people came out to support the cause and get a little morning run in. Following the 5k and 10k race the kids had their Fun Run. We had a good amount of kids participate even with the not so good conditions. Fantasy Sound provided all the audio for the races as well as the Emcee for the 5k and Kids Fun Run. We would like to thank Rhodyco Productions for another successful race.
