School FAQs

Choosing the right DJ can feel like a daunting task and you may have many questions. To help you get started, we have included some of the questions we are asked most frequently. This list is not intended to be exhaustive, so, if you have questions that aren’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to ask!

How will you choose the music for our dance?

We take requests from your school prior to the event as well as at the event itself.

Do you have a list of music we can look at and choose from?

We have a top 50 list that we update monthly as we receive the latest hits. You can also send us a list, prior to the dance, of songs you would like to hear. We will do our best to make sure we have every song you request.

Do you take requests?

We take requests during the event, as well as discuss with you what you would like to hear prior to your event.

Do you charge for travel?

Outside of a 30-mile radius from our office there is a travel charge of 80 cents/per/mile. Additional charges may apply depending on location and/or event accessibility.

Do we pay all at once?

There is a non-refundable retainer of $50.00 to hold your event date; it is due two weeks after we send out the contract. The remaining balance will be due the day of the event. Acceptable methods of payment include: personal checks, cash, and all major credit cards.

Is the retainer refundable?

Retainers cannot be refunded, as they are used to hold your event date and assure you that your DJ will be available.

What will be my DJ’s attire be?

Unless you specify otherwise, your DJ will be dressed in jeans and a Fantasy Sound shirt. In certain cases, some clients have themed their event and ask us to dress accordingly for their event theme. We are always happy to oblige!

How much time will you need to set up prior to the dance?

We will be there an hour prior to the dance to set up all of our equipment.

Do you have non-explicit music to play?

All of the music that we play is edited so that it is appropriate for school play.

Should we tip our DJ?

Gratuities are not required, but are greatly appreciated. Your DJ will be working hard to ensure that your event is a success. If you feel your DJ gave you great service, a tip would be appropriate.

Thanks to Kevin and his team for making my wedding just perfect! I was so lucky to actually have Kevin as my DJ. Kevin is very professional and most important of all, experienced. He’s super easy going and we really felt as ease having him at the wedding. Two of our friends that had just gotten married had used Kevin, so he was first on our list to call for our wedding. We had an acoustic guitarist for the ceremony and Kevin was able to bring his equipment outside so everyone could hear everything. Everything was great!!
