This is a part of our Creative Collaboration series, where we introduce you to our creative partners from all around the Bay Area. Today, we’re introducing you to Jeff Peabody of Wente Vineyards.

Wente Vineyards is the oldest continually operated, family owned winery in the country. They focus on delivering outstanding wine and wine country experiences. Their catering department runs over 1,000 events a year that include over 200 weddings, a summer concert series, golf tournaments, conferences and private corporate and social events. With several unique venue sites situated on multiple properties spread throughout Livermore, they offer outstanding service paired with amazing gourmet food and wine options.

We asked Jeff to tell us about what inspired him to pursue a career in weddings and how he got started in the industry.

Several years ago, my sister and I were both in jobs that were suffocating us creatively. We both grew up in a creative household where we pursued different hobbies within the arts and entertainment field, yet somehow found ourselves as young adults in jobs that were not fulfilling us. One day, after planning and running a very extravagant birthday party for my niece, we decided to go into business together as event planners. Over the years, we focused our specialty business into a dessert table venture for weddings. Our dream was born and my passion for weddings was sparked. One year later, I came to find Wente Vineyards and started my full time job as a Wedding Coordinator within their Catering Front of House team. One year after that, I was privileged and humbled to accept the Associate Events Director position and just this past month I accepted a new position within the Sales team as a Sales Manager.

Jeff also shared what his favorite part about being in weddings is.

The best part about any wedding is getting to make an impact on someone’s best day of their life. Too often, we get bogged down with mindless tasks or we’re stuck in a career that feels like you don’t make a difference, but every day I come to work, I see the difference I’m making. I’m delighted when a bride walks into her event space for the first time, or when a groom sees his bride in her dress for the first time. It gives me chills every time!

Jeff is also sharing the one piece of advice he likes to give couples planning their wedding.

Don’t try and do it yourself! You’ll regret it. Invest in good people who know what they’re doing. At the end of the night, you’ll thank yourself that you were able to actually sit back and enjoy your day. Hire pros!

Proudly serving Bay Area Weddings for over twenty years, Fantasy Sound aims to be engaged couples’ first stop- offering Disc Jockey, Videography, Event Lighting Décor and Wedding Planning services.
