We asked Patricio to tell us about what inspired him to pursue a career in weddings and how he got started in the industry.
As a professional musician, I have always sought out different ways to continue to play music year round. As I was always the business end of any group I played in, offering a group’s expertise to perform at weddings was a natural fit. In the process, I found I work really well with couples on deciding the best combo of music they want for their special day!
Patricio also shared what his favorite part about being in weddings is.
The personal touches with which one can help. From the perspective of Live Music, I try to match the desires and histories of the couple and their extended family through the music selections. For example, classical Indian music for the ceremony to honor one family’s culture, and then a Cuban Son act for later on to honor the other family’s roots.
Patricio is also sharing the one piece of advice he likes to give couples planning their wedding.
Plan as intensely as you feel you need to, but on the day of the wedding, just let go and enjoy the moments that will fly by you. No wedding goes 100% to perfection (it’s like asking for a musical to be performed WITHOUT rehearsal). Trust that all of the vendors on hand will make it feel like it is was 100% perfect!
