We all could use a little extra LOVE right now…
We hope that you and your family are staying safe, sane, and healthy during this time! And please remember to wear your mask, because we are dying to get back to doing what we LOVE!
Don’t mind us…we’re just daydreaming of the day when we can create gorgeous weddings again! This was one of our favorites from earlier this year- we had such a blast with this unique drapery design. It added such a statement and went so well with the elegant floral chandelier created by Nicole Ha Designs!

We just received the official photos from last year’s Casa Amore and we could not wait to share them with you! We thought we’d start off with this shot captured by Rhee Bevere Photography, featuring our Statue LOVE Letters, Drapery, Wooden Arbor, and Geometric Chandeliers! They all pair beautifully with the stunning lounge from Pleasanton Rentals and the Delford West florals and greenery really tie everything together. This was one of our favorite vignettes from Casa Amore and we hope you loved it too!
We apologize for the cell phone pic, but we could NOT wait to share this photo from Jenny and Chris’ wedding at Casa Real! We had a dream team of creative partners for this one- Pleasanton Rentals, Nicole Ha Designs, and Swoon Custom Chalk, and we can’t wait to see the photos Jennifer Skog Photography captured!
This is a part of our Creative Collaboration series, where we introduce you to our creative partners from all around the Bay Area. Today, we’re introducing you to Alyssia Lundgren from Casa Real & Palm Events Center.
Our company, Beets Hospitality Group, is a catering and event management company. We primarily focus on detailing and executing Bridal, Corporate, and Social events at our two properties in Livermore Wine Country, Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery and The Palm Event Center in the Vineyard.
We asked Alyssia to tell us about what inspired her to pursue a career in weddings and how she got started in the industry.
I paid my way through college as a restaurant server, eventually becoming a manager, then event director for a restaurant; this position included managing rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and small wedding receptions. Hospitality is in my soul, I LOVE that in one brief experience you can change someone’s mood, relieve stresses, and be a small part of a memory they may cherish forever. Now I get to be a part of one of the most substantial memories a couple and family can share, and I get to do it everyday. It’s amazing.
Alyssia also shared what her favorite part about being in weddings is.
I must preface this by saying that for me, it is always difficult to answer any question that starts with “What is your favorite…”, however if I had to pick one element it would be seeing two people from different families, different childhoods, sometimes cultures, religions, traditions, etc. come together to start a new family. Its such a powerful, beautiful thing to see how those two worlds are merging into one. Its one of the most rewarding moments when we can assist in navigating this new path, honoring both histories as they start their future. But even above that amazing reward, we get the honor of being a part of their families and traditions and culture, even for a short time. For that, I am beyond grateful, for everything I’ve learned and how much I’ve grown because of our couples.
Alyssia is also sharing the one piece of advice she likes to give couples planning their wedding.
1. Hire an amazing team of vendors and then trust them. There is nothing more valuable than having an all-star team of vendors on the day of your wedding.
2. Think-of, plan, picture every detail, up until your rehearsal – and then become the bride and groom. Remember, you have hired an amazing team of professionals and that you can trust them (as long as you’ve followed advice #1).

We haven’t received any of the professional photos yet, but we wanted to share some of our favorite looks from the evening that we captured ourselves!
We were so excited to unveil our Statue LOVE Letters! Standing 8′ tall, they’re an amazing statement piece and they would be so much fun for photographs. We will be offering these letters in both the dark wood seen here and white!
Nicole Ha Design always outdoes herself, and this year was no different! Our 9′ Round Crystal Beaded Chandelier is always stunning, but adding in the 20′ long Crystal Beaded Column, 5 Light Crystal Chandeliers, and greenery on the top takes it over the edge!
We wanted to create a twist on our 12’x12′ Beaded Crystal Chandelier, so say hello to our Fabric Chandelier! Adding the GOBO patterns and 25 Light Crystal Chandelier will help create a stunning focal point over your dance floor!
This may have been one of the smallest vignettes…but it was certainly one of our favorites! Our Black Velour Drapery and Edison Bulbs add to the autumnal dream Nicole Ha created!
We loved getting the opportunity to collaborate with Liz of Enchantment Floral in this whimsical vignette! Our 16 Light Crystal Chandeliers complement the design so well!
Our brand new 12′ Arbor is a really exciting addition to our inventory! It’s totally versatile and can be used in many different ways alongside our other items, like our Edison Bulbs and Geometric Chandeliers, but we especially love the look that Karl of Delford West created with the greenery!
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the level of epic in this photo?! Absolutely stunning! Thank you to Kirstin Burrows Photography for capturing this special moment!
We are getting super excited for this year’s Casa Amore, so we wanted to throw it back to one of our favorite looks from the last Casa Amore! A huge thank you to Augie Chang Photography for the photo!
Tannya and Barriet’s wedding day at Casa Real was truly one for the books! From a custom monogram and our grand crystal chandelier over the dance floor to elegant drapery around the space, everything came together for a special celebration for these lovebirds.
Three cheers for the new Mr. and Mrs. – we’re happy to have been a part of your special day!
Our thanks go out to Hagerty Photography for capturing and sharing these wonderful shots with us!

This is a part of our Creative Collaboration series, where we introduce you to our creative partners from all around the Bay Area. Today, we’re introducing you to Jenny Whitney of Beets Hospitality Group.
We’re thrilled to introduce Jenny Whitney, an event coordinator at Beets Hospitality Group, which happens to run two of our beloved venues – Palm Event Center and Casa Real. They create unforgettable events in both the bridal and corporate segments, and they are always striving to innovate in the constantly changing event world that we live in.
We asked Jenny about her favorite part about being involved in a wedding:
I love being so closely involved with the couple on the most important day of their lives. I get to fluff up the bride’s train before she walks down the aisle. I’m the last person she sees as I open the doors for her to walk down the aisle, and I get to witness their expressions and emotions as they walk back through the ceremony doors as a married couple. I love witnessing all of the love and happiness in the room through the duration of any wedding, and seeing the couple’s pure joy throughout the night. Lastly, I love saying goodnight at the end of a successful wedding and hearing how much they appreciated all we did for them.
I love this ever-changing industry we are in. We consistently challenge each other to deliver the best of the extravagant, the trendy, and the classic events that fit each of our couples. I feel at home in this industry, and I love coming to work everyday doing the work that I love 🙂
She also shared a major ‘uh-oh’ moment and how it was recovered quickly:
The worst thing that has ever happened involved a bride who hadn’t tried on her dress within the week of the wedding. After being zipped into her dress, the zipper completely broke, leaving her dress almost completely backless. Luckily I have some sewing experience, so I was able to sew her into the dress. I had to continually fix stitches throughout the event, but she was so thankful that I was able to keep her dress on her! This was probably one of the most stressful situations for me.
Jenny shared some advice for engaged couples as well:
Trust in your vendors. Also, trust in preferred vendor lists. The preferred vendors are preferred for a reason. Reputable venues will have done their research on these vendors for you. They will likely have worked at your venue often, and will know what designs, color schemes, and other logistics work best for each space. Also book them early. Start with the vendors that will be there through your whole wedding day. Your photographers, your videographers and your DJs are unable to double book themselves, so once they are taken, they are taken! Don’t procrastinate! Same goes for your wedding venue. If you fall in love with a popular venue that has limited availability, try and make your decision quickly, as those limited dates may not stay open for long.

Earlier this month, we shared a Borrowed and Blue feature of Jennie and Irving’s wedding and we’re thrilled to share our insider’s perspective! We loved working with these two – they are so clearly in love, and that’s always our favorite thing about our couples!
We dressed up Casa Real with a mix of beautiful crystal chandeliers and a custom gobo wash for a truly romantic feel. The wedding was certainly one for the books – and hey, it doesn’t get any better than a S’mores station!
We were delighted to be a part of Jennie and Irving’s special day – we wish them all the very best in married life! We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to Dana Todd Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos with us. 🙂

This is a part of our Creative Collaboration series, where we introduce you to our creative partners from all around the Bay Area. Today, we’re introducing you to Kara Andrews of Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery.
We are thrilled to introduce Kara Andrews, the office manager over at Casa Real, a gorgeous event venue in Livermore!
After graduating from UC-Santa Barbara, Kara wasn’t sure what she wanted to pursue, but after some time exploring the hospitality industry (and getting engaged!), she found the opportunity to work on the opening of Casa Real and the rest is history.
As the office manager, Kara works with couples from start to finish, which typically takes about a year. Her favorite part of a wedding, of course, is the Big Day! “On the day of their event, it is magical to see our copious notes come to life.”
Kara shared a particular wedding mishap with us, as well as how she and her team came through with a solution:
“During a ceremony, a family member passed out in the front row as the doors opened for the bride’s entrance. The officiant caught the event coordinator’s attention as all guests turned to see the bride. Our staff assisted the family member to a side door and called for medical assistance. The ambulance arrived at the front of the property and no one in the ceremony location was aware of this occurrence.”
She also shared a bit of advice for couples planning their wedding:
“It is so easy to get stressed over the little details of event planning. As my husband reminded me the week of our wedding, ‘There are so many hours in a day. If it is important enough, it will get done. Otherwise, let it go.’ Couples need to remember guests are attending the wedding to simply witness their union. That is what is important on their wedding day.”
When she’s not busy coordinating weddings for happy couples, Kara can usually be found spending her time with her husband and 2-year-old son. “I would spend my time with them whether it’s in our living room or a far away place.”

Coordinating your wedding ceremony can be quite the undertaking, especially considering that there are so many moving parts to look after. From getting the wedding party in order to making sure the flower girl(s) and ring bearer know their cue and the officiant is on schedule, it’s enough to make one person’s head spin! Thanks to your amazing wedding party (and coordinator!), you won’t have to go through it alone.

One of the most important steps when it comes to coordinating your ceremony is to simply get organized. Create a timeline for your wedding day and communicate this to the wedding officiant. This will help him/her ensure that your ceremony doesn’t drag on for too long. After a while, your guests will be ready to eat, drink and be merry! Remember to mention any special rituals (i.e. lighting a unity candle, rose presentation, or jumping the broom) that you wish to perform during the ceremony as well.

Next, get into the details of which friends and family members will be playing which roles. Outside of assembling the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the bride needs to determine who will be the maid, matron or maiden of honor and, of course, the groom needs to choose his best man.
There are serious duties that come along with holding a high office in the wedding party, so choose wisely! The matron or maid of honor and best man are in charge of assisting the couple throughout the ceremony and most importantly, holding on to the rings.
Don’t forget about the little ones in your wedding party! You’ll need a ring bearer and flower girl(s). In particular, the ring bearer will need a trusted adult to hand him the wedding rings before he walks down the aisle. If you have a younger, more rambunctious ring bearer on your hands, swap the real rings for decoys that he can carry down the aisle instead.
Once your wedding party is situated, start thinking about your guests’ needs. One thing’s for sure, they’ll need a place to sit! Make sure that you have greeters or ushers on hand to pass out programs and guide everyone to their seats. Also, while you’re checking off your list, remember that everyone will need to hear what’s going on at the altar. Ensure that you have a solid sound system so that the officiant and your vows are heard loud and clear.

After you’ve said your vows and sealed them with a kiss, it’s time to get the party started! The first dance will kick things off, which means you’ll need to have the perfect song on hand. Whether you want to slow dance beneath the stars or turn things up a notch, we’ve got you covered. Take note of a few of our favorite songs that’ll give you the first dance of your dreams!

“At Last” – Etta James
What a relief it is to finally marry the guy or girl of your dreams! “At Last” is a wonderful record for the couple taking a more classic approach to their first dance. You can’t beat swaying to James’ smooth vocals and the songs beautiful lyrics. Every newlywed can relate to the feeling of at last finding true love, which makes this classic perfectly fitting for a first dance!
“Thinking Out Loud” – Ed Sheeran
In the chorus, Sheeran croons, “So honey, now, take me into your loving arms.” Could this song be any better for a first dance?! “Thinking Out Loud” celebrates an eternal love that holds strong even through old age. Play this song as you sway across the dance floor and the song’s magic will surely rub off on your marriage!

“Unforgettable” – Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole
Here’s a lovely song that will help create an “unforgettable” moment out on the dance floor. The Coles sing about falling in love with someone so incredible and that special someone finding you just as incredible in return. Everyone will be swooning once your DJ puts the needle down on this record!
“I Found You” – Alabama Shakes
Need a love song with a lot of oomph? Put Alabama Shakes’ “I Found You” at the top of your go-to list. Their upbeat single is an excellent choice considering that you’re going to have many reasons to tear up the dance the floor with your mate. For the couple that wants abandon the traditional first “slow” dance, here’s a great way to shake things up!
