You can’t have a fantastic wedding without equally fantastic vendors! Luckily, finding the right vendors for your Big Day is just a few clicks away. Check out these wonderful resources that will help you qualify the best vendors for your wedding!

The Knot & WeddingWire
Both of these sites will be your best friends throughout the planning process. You can search for wedding vendors by category and easily find reviews and photos. You can also learn about other key details, such as pricing and amenities. On WeddingWire, the site breaks down each vendor’s rating by factors such as quality of service, responsiveness and professionalism, which can be extremely helpful!

Social Media
Now’s the time to put your social media stalking skills to good use! Head over to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see what folks are saying about your potential vendors. Check out whether or not the tone of conversation in their mentions on Twitter and comment sections on Facebook and Instagram is generally positive. Also, look up their hashtags and get a good idea of what goes on behind-the-scenes. 

Yelp
There’s a wealth of information on Yelp as well. Their reviews often include photos, which is a major plus! Also, Yelp is much more than just reviews and ratings. You can request a quote through the site and find out which vendors are currently offering a deal. 

Website Testimonials
Of course, you have to visit each vendors website to take a look at their testimonials. Think about your vendor deal breakers and the quality of service you would like provided and see who matches up. If a vendor doesn’t have testimonials listed on their website, don’t be afraid to request referrals in-person.

What To Do After Saying ‘I Do’

After tying the knot, it’s important that newlyweds get a few things in order. From mailing out thank-you cards to handling name changes, there is plenty to do after your wedding. Here are a few tasks that’ll help get your post-wedding to-do list going!

Don’t disappear
Enjoy your fabulous honeymoon, but don’t go MIA on your vendors once you return. Vendors may need to follow-up with you or just want to say thanks, which brings us to our next to-do!

Give your vendors a shout out
If your vendors did a fantastic job, don’t forget to hop on WeddingWire, The Knot, and/or Yelp to let everyone else know just how amazing they are! Positive reviews on these platforms are just the right boost that will help them book more couples.

Send thank you notes
One of the most important things to cross of your list is, of course, sending those thank you notes for all of the wedding gifts you have received. Keep track of who gave what so that you can send personalized messages of gratitude. Your guests will certainly appreciate the effort!

Get your legal affairs in order
The process of getting your name changed, if you so desire, has its own to-do list! Start with your driver’s license, Social Security Card and bank accounts, then work your way on down the list. You’ll have to notify places such as your employer and utility and insurance companies. Also, don’t forget about changing the name on your credit cards and passport!

Properly store your wedding gown
Here’s a biggie for the bride! Your wedding gown is a gorgeous (and very expensive) keepsake that you’ll want to be kept in pristine condition. Consider hiring a preservationist who can help get your dress cleaned, neatly wrapped and tucked away.

Once your wedding and honeymoon are over, you’ll start missing the feeling of having something grand to look forward to. Consider picking up a new hobby or getting a head start on  planning your next getaway. Staying occupied will help combat the post-wedding blues!

Beets Hospitality GroupToday, we’re talking with Sandy Zucker from Beets Hospitality Group! Beets Hospitality Group is an event management and catering company that operates two exclusive event venues, the Palm Event Center in the Vineyard and Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery.

Although Sandy “fell into the business” straight out of college, she quickly fell in love with the events industry. After working as a Catering Sales Director at a venue in San Ramon, Sandy made the move to Beets Hospitality Group and we’re honored to work with her on a regular basis!

For her, the draw to the events industry (especially weddings!) is the look of joy in peoples’ eyes. Most couples are planning their first wedding and are on Cloud Nine when they come to Sandy and she is honored to be a part of the butterflies, the nerves, the excitement, and everything in between.

When working with couples, Sandy’s best advice is:

I always tell my couples to have fun with the planning and try not to create something that is impossible. With Pinterest available there are so many styled shoots and unrealistic images that our couples try and copy. I just try to remind them that they should try and create their own Pinterest wedding!

When she’s not running around planning wedding after wedding, Sandy’s favorite vacation spot is Hawaii. With its soft breezes and sandy beaches, Hawaii is a calming place that offers the best way to rejuvenate and disconnect from the craziness that is weddings.

Making the Most of Your Photo Booth

Photo booths are wonderful party add-ons that will help get your wedding guests mingling. With the help of props and backdrops, your Big Day will get even bigger! If you’re thinking of having a photo booth at your wedding, there are many ways to make the most of your rental.

Let’s start with location! Setting up your photo booth in the right spot at your party is key. Make sure it’s out in the open as opposed to tucked away in a corner. In the same token, ensure that there are signs in place to let everyone know that there is fun to be had behind those velvet curtains.

Guests may be a little shy to approach the photo booth at first, so get the word out! Encourage your more outgoing party-goers to get in the booth and welcome others to tag along. Also, have your DJ or MC make an announcement to let everyone know where the booth is and that it’s absolutely free of charge.

Additionally you’ll want to think about how many guests will be attending your wedding. Couples planning larger weddings should consider renting two photo booths, which will help prevent long lines and allow guests to snap more pictures with the crowd.

Lastly, you can’t have a photo booth without fun props and custom backdrops! Check with your vendor to learn about their customization options or get creative on your own! Perhaps you could roll out a red carpet for an old Hollywood-themed photo booth experience or show love to your favorite sports teams with footballs and foam fingers – the possibilities are endless!

Photo booths are pretty much a must-have to get the party going at your wedding. Your guests will enjoy creating memories that they can hold on to forever!

Tips for Scheduling Your Wedding Date

Getting engaged is a truly exciting time for couples! And perhaps we’re biased, but the planning itself is pretty fun too.

However, before you start securing vendors and picking out decor you have to pick a date to say, “I do.” Setting a date is so much more than selecting a number and month off your calendar. There are many things to consider from the season to the day of the week. Here are a few tips and tricks that will help you schedule the best date for your Special Day!

The time of the year is a major factor to consider when scheduling your wedding date. If you’re on a tight budget, having an off-season wedding is certainly beneficial. During the off-season, you may find additional savings for not hosting your event during the peak times of the year.

It’s also important to factor in the weather and seasonality of your dream florals. Importing spring florals for your winter wedding is going to put a dent in your budget, while sticking to in-season blooms will save you some change.

Aside from the season, you should also choose the actual day of the week your wedding will take place wisely. Saturday is most popular for various reasons, including that your guests get to enjoy the whole day without having to worry about slouching into work the next morning. Booking the perfect wedding venue requires quite a bit of forethought. Whether you’re thinking about nabbing an elegant ballroom or dressing up the neighborhood bistro, make sure your venue will provide the appropriate backdrop for your Special Day. Before you book, consider mulling over a few details that will help you choose the right venue!

Size
Ensure that your venue is not too big or too small. You’ll want your guests to comfortably enjoy the ceremony. Also, think beyond the number of guests that will be in attendance. Imagine how big you want the altar to be and decide whether you want a sit-down dinner or buffet at the reception. These are all major factors that will determine how much space you’ll ultimately need.

Meet Tyler Giovanetti from Beets Hospitality Group!

As Property Manager of the two venues owned and operated by Beets Hospitality Group—Casa Real and Palm Event Center—Tyler has certainly seen his fair share of the wedding scene. It was his extreme attention to detail that drew him to the events industry and he’s proud to have such a strong Property Maintenance Team that values hospitality as they ensure every detail is just perfect for each wedding couple. Between ensuring the HVAC systems are working properly to designing and maintaining the exquisite landscape of the venues, much of the work is behind-the-scenes but are certainly vital to a successful wedding.

“I am very proud that I get to lead a team of problem solvers, and we are able to find solutions to problems behind the scenes without the client or their guests ever even knowing there was an issue.”

When he’s not on the grounds of either of the gorgeous venues he manages, you can sure bet that he’ll still be enjoying the outdoors elsewhere. Whether it’s backpacking or dirt biking, Tyler enjoys spending his time off on adventures and finding peace in nature.

Jessica and Chris’ Breathtaking Wedding at Palm Event Center

Today, we’re sharing Jessica and Chris’ beautiful Palm Event Center wedding! These two were a delight to work with and their style came together for an oh-so perfect wedding day. Scroll down to see more!

648159866As usual, the Palm Event Center played the ideal wedding backdrop and Jessica and Chris’ wedding was truly one for the books. 30-candle iron chandeliers lit up the dance floor, along with a custom GOBO print wash for an intimate, romantic feel.

Liz and Ed’s Funky Palm Event Center Wedding

Liz and Ed’s big day at Palm Event Center was chockfull of love, joy, and a whole ton of fun! These two carefree spirits celebrated their union among their closest family and friends for a wonderfully intimate time – with their own special touches adding to the liveliness of their wedding.
