Tell us a bit about your professional background. What brought you to the event industry?
With a degree in Health Science, I initially pursued a career in Occupational Therapy and was accepted into a Master’s Program. However, at the same time, a friend had asked if I was interested in becoming the Associate Events Director at Wente Vineyards. I was a bit hesitant having worked so hard to getting to where I was with my schooling. Having previously worked in geriatrics and end-of-life care, I found the experience of overseeing an event at Wente to be a refreshing contrast—celebrating life instead of focusing on its final stages. My background in the service industry as a server and bartender had already instilled in me a love for hospitality and connecting with people. I accepted the role at Wente Vineyards and, 25 years later, I am now the Director of Sales. Every day, I enjoy showcasing the beauty of the property and all it has to offer, continuing my passion for creating unforgettable experiences.

What do you love about your job?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet new people and create meaningful connections. Every day is different, bringing new experiences, challenges, and celebrations. I enjoy learning about different cultures and customs, which adds richness to every event and interaction. The stunning beauty of Wente Vineyards, combined with our award-winning wines, makes every moment here special. Being able to share this incredible property with guests while curating memorable experiences is truly rewarding and keeps my passion for hospitality alive.

What’s the most memorable reaction you’ve experienced from a couple leading up to their wedding day?
One of the most memorable reactions I’ve experienced from a couple on their wedding day was pure, overwhelming joy. As they stepped onto the vineyard grounds for their ceremony, they were moved to tears, taking in the breathtaking scenery and the realization that their dream wedding was unfolding before them. Later that evening, they pulled me aside, expressing heartfelt gratitude for making their vision a reality. They couldn’t stop gushing about how magical everything felt—from the seamless service to the stunning ambiance and, of course, the incredible wine. Seeing their happiness and knowing I played a part in creating such a special moment is what makes my job so fulfilling.

If you could share one wedding planning tip with an engaged couple, what would you tell them?
If I could share one wedding planning tip with an engaged couple, it would be to stay present and enjoy the process. It’s easy to get caught up in the details, but the most important thing is celebrating your love and the journey you’re embarking on together. Trust your vendors, embrace the unexpected, and focus on creating meaningful moments rather than chasing perfection. At the end of the day, it’s the love, laughter, and memories shared with family and friends that will make your wedding truly unforgettable.
