
Fantasy Sound Event Services is back with our monthly blog series, Seven with Kevin! This month, Kevin wanted to focus on something that can quietly take over during the wedding planning process if you let it… pressure. After months, or sometimes years, of planning, it can start to feel like everything needs to go absolutely perfectly. It’s important to know that the couples who enjoy their day the most are the ones who know what to hold on to and what to let go of.
Kevin has broken down seven things you can release on your wedding day, so you can be as present as possible. He wants you to be less stressed and actually enjoy the celebration you worked so hard to plan. Let’s dive in and have a stress

Kevin just wants you to know that the small imperfections will not ruin the meaningful moments. It’s absolutely natural to want things to go well, especially when you’ve put so much time, effort, and money into this one day. He wants to remind you as well that perfection is not what makes a wedding memorable; it’s the connection and the feeling.
Years from now, guests will not remember all the tiny details; what they will remember is how they felt. As Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” If something isn’t perfect, that doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful.
In case you forgot… this day is about the two of you. Unfortunately, Kevin sees couples stretching themselves thin to try to make everyone happy all the time. The reality is – it’s impossible. When juggling family dynamics, friend groups, and outside opinions, there will always be different expectations. Your wedding day cannot be built around everyone else.
Kevin isn’t saying not to consider others, but at the end of the day, your decisions should ultimately reflect you as a couple. He promises that the more authentic your day feels, the more enjoyable it will be.
If there’s one thing that could help you stress less on the day of, it’s understanding that when it comes to the timeline, the flow matters more than the exact minutes. There is nothing that creates more stress than a timeline that is planned down to the exact minute.
Your guests will never follow a perfect schedule. Transitions take time, and the big moments will unfold naturally. Kevin is not saying to leave it all to the wind, but not to stress if you’re 5-10 minutes behind. Having the right vendor team in place will allow the day to flow the way it’s meant to and take the stress off you and your partner. When you allow things to move naturally, the experience will feel smoother for both you and your guests.
Comparison is the thief of joy. With the endless amounts of inspiration and social media posts at your fingertips, it’s so easy to fall into comparison. But Kevin wants to ask you one thing – why would you want your wedding to be like anyone else’s? When you spend too much time focusing on what other weddings look like, you risk losing what makes your wedding day uniquely your own.
Kevin also wanted to sneak in an additional tip and tell you to prioritize your time spent together as a couple. Carve out 10 minutes for only the two of you and take a moment to yourself. The day will pass you by faster than you realize.
Kevin promises that the most memorable weddings are the ones that feel authentic, personal, and true to the couple.
The minor mishaps… most guests will never notice them. Especially if you don’t make a big deal about it or draw attention to it. Some things may not go exactly to plan, and that’s okay.
Kevin has seen situations in the past where over-communication or an overreaction actually caused guests to feel like something was wrong when everything was going smoothly. He recalls a time when a wedding planner kept leaving their clipboard out in public spaces for guests to see. Guests could see notes and the timeline, and gather that they were “behind”, and begin to feel stressed, when in reality, if that information was never presented to them, they would not have known.
When you stay calm, your guests will too.
At the end of the day, it’s so important to put trust in the team that you hired. When the day of your wedding arrives, your role will shift from planner to participant. You hired these people for a reason. You trusted and hired them to handle the details, manage the flow, and support you throughout the entirety of the day.
Kevin has seen that when couples try to control and micromanage every second of the day, it’s much more stressful and less enjoyable for them. Let your vendor team do what they do best, and sit back and relax.
Be present in each moment. You only get this day once. It’s so easy to get caught up in the timeline and what is coming next, but your wedding day is made up of endless one-in-a-lifetime moments. You should be truly there for every single one.
Think about getting ready with your closest friends, exchanging your vows, your first dance, and those quiet moments in between. Kevin wants to encourage you to take a step back, breathe, and take it all in. Even stepping away for a few moments like he mentioned earlier, can help you reset and fully appreciate the day.
