Welcome back to Fantasy Sound’s Creative Partner Spotlight! This month, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Jenna McClelland, Director of Events at Diablo Country Club.
After 20+ years in events, Jenna leads with creativity, kindness, and experience. Her path through the industry shows just how much she loves serving others and creating meaningful, memorable moments for every couple and client she works with.
In this spotlight, you’ll learn about her path into the events industry, the joy she finds in curating meaningful experiences, and the heartfelt moments that make wedding days so special. Let’s dive in!
Tell us a bit about your professional background. What brought you to the event industry?
My 20-plus years of event management experience began in the corporate sector, where I oversaw the event portfolio for Diageo across Northern California. Following a career pivot into teaching Pre-school and Kindergarten, I returned to my passion for events, specializing in the non-profit sector where I successfully executed high-impact fundraising events and facilitated weddings. I currently serve as the Events Director for Diablo Country Club, where I am responsible for managing all club, member, and non-member events.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the day-to-day interactions with members and clients of the club. Diablo has over 100 years of history tied to it and the members and guests that attend events at Diablo get to immerse themselves in the rich history of the club. I love being able to curate events for clients and the creative freedom that goes along with that.
What’s the most memorable reaction you’ve ever experienced from a couple on their wedding day?
One of the things I love most about my job is getting to walk with a couple every step of the way—from the excitement of their engagement right up to the very last dance on their wedding day. It’s truly a privilege to witness their love story and weave in all those little personal touches that make their celebration uniquely theirs. I strive to make sure every couple has a meaningful, totally bespoke experience, and I have so much fun providing the perfect, seamless backdrop for their vision to come to life.
If you could share one planning tip with an engaged couple, what would you tell them?
tMy best advice? Enjoy the ride! It is so easy to get caught up in the minute details and overlook the main goal: celebrating your love and commitment with your dearest friends and family. My advice is to pause often, focus on the ‘why,’ and not lose sight of the incredible reason you’re doing all this planning.
