Photo of the Week: Sweet Wedding Recessional

Today, we’re celebrating that “just married” excitement that is always present during a couple’s wedding recessional! They’ve worked so hard to get down that aisle, and now there’s nothing left to do but party! (And the marriage part, but first things first…)

wedding recessional | palm event center

These lovebirds said “I do!” at Palm Event Center and you can just tell that their wedding recessional was a moment that felt unreal! As for their wedding reception… well, that was an unforgettable experience as well!

Oh, and psst… Don’t miss our ceiling swag dressing up the altar! We love how drapery can transform a space — and this is just one of the examples. Check out our drapery gallery to find more inspiration!

4 Ways to Enhance Your Wedding with Event Drapery

Designing a wedding involves many moving pieces to ensure all of the décor comes together for a cohesive theme. From florals and furniture to centerpieces and signage, a lot goes into your picture-perfect day! Yet, event drapery is often overlooked despite the many benefits it can add to your celebration.

So what’s so great about event drapery?

Great question. Here are four reasons to enhance your wedding design with drapery!

Set apart distinct spaces.

Step into a cavernous ballroom and it can feel pretty intimidating, knowing you have to fill that space with décor! But with event drapery, one large space can become several smaller spaces — all it takes is some simple rigging (which our specialists handle). Create a hospitality space filled with amenities, a dessert area with sweet treats, or an open-air photo booth with all the fixin’s. Drapery opens up unlimited possibilities for how your space can look and feel on the big day.

Cover up unsightly fixtures.

Even the most beautiful venues have certain fixtures that are better left unseen. Support poles, beams, wall hangings, and other onsite features can take away from your wedding’s design theme. Fortunately, drapery can conceal most* of them so they don’t show up as ugly photobombers in the back of your wedding pictures.

*We say most because fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and exit signs can not—and should not—be covered by anything. The same goes for anything near an open flame.

Add texture to the design.

Design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating a certain atmosphere for your guests. Your goal is to engage all the senses — delicious smells (and tastes) from the caterers, enjoyable music from the DJ, and allllllll the pretty details to see. Texture brings the all-important sense of touch into the picture, adding an extra dimension to your wedding design. Sequins, satin, taffeta — every texture offers a unique feel to your space, so let’s get creative!

Create the desired ambiance.

Event drapery has the power to transform a space and create the perfect ambiance to match your décor. Looking for a soft and airy look? Consider flowy chiffon drapery in white, blush, or natural tones. More of a deep, dark, and moody vibe? Opt for velour in black or jewel tones. Want a glam feel for your big day? Try out satin, silk, or even brocade drapery to do it big. Needless to say, there’s a drape style for every wedding style — all you have to do is ask.

Event drapery is the versatile addition every wedding needs!

Photo of the Week: Jumping the Broom

They say culture grows on the vine of tradition. Whether it’s wearing something borrowed, incorporating family heirlooms, or jumping the broom to seal the union, we are here for it!

This sweet couple tied the knot at The Bridges Golf Club and said “YES!” to their happily ever after. Our chiffon and taffeta drapery paired beautifully with their delicate greenery and floral arrangements.

When you’re entrusted with tradition, you’ve got to protect it. Cheers to “I do!”

Don’t mind us…we’re just daydreaming of the day when we can create gorgeous weddings again! This was one of our favorites from earlier this year- we had such a blast with this unique drapery design. It added such a statement and went so well with the elegant floral chandelier created by Nicole Ha Designs!

The Fantasy Sound Difference: Drapery

When you work with Fantasy Sound for your wedding, there are certain things that you’ll notice set us apart from others. Today, we’re going to look at why we’re a bit different (in a good way!) when you rent your drapery from us.

Chiffon Drapery and Square Bead Chandelier Bar Treatment

Clean, fresh linens every time!
That’s right – no need to worry about stains or the like. We wash our drapery after every use to ensure that it is always fresh for your event!

What are wrinkles?
Seriously… we don’t know what that word means. We take extra care steaming every single panel of drapery on-site. As we like to say, wrinkle-free drapery is pretty drapery!

Keep it even
When it comes to our tie-backs, we don’t mess around. We check, double check, and triple check to make sure that the tie-backs are even and the tassels are all the same length!

Eggplant Taffeta Drapery

We love socks!

As you may or may not know, we have a thing for socks. Not just for those on our feet, but we also “sock” the drapery poles with drapery! That means you will never seen an ugly silver pole peeking out on your big day to ruin the design.

Tailored fit
We custom make each of our drapery panels to ensure that there is always more than enough fabric. You’ll never experience “flooding” issues with us (think too-short drapery!) and we are always happy to get the exact shade you are looking for!

Are you dazzled by drapery? We’d love to chat with you! Give us a ring and tell us all about your special day – we can’t wait to see how we can make it all the better!

Drapes, Drapes, Drapes!

Looking to steal peoples’ breath away as they walk into your reception? There are many ways to do that, but one of our favorite methods is to use drapery to get that show-stopping dramatic feel that you’re looking for. See for yourself:

The best thing about drapes is that they are completely dynamic and versatile. They can be used to create an intimate feel or they can be designed to really get that “WOW!” factor. Loving the look? Give us a ring and we’ll set you up with one of our expert Decor Specialists – let us give you your dream wedding!

Tina and Lance’s Wedding at Casa Real!

To say Tina and Lance’s wedding was jaw-dropping would be an understatement! It’s always a pleasure working at Casa Real and this was no exception. We provided drapery and a custom GOBO for the ceremony, as well as the drapery and 12-light crystal chandeliers for the reception area. Danny Dong captured some incredible images and we loved checking them out on his blog!

Rachel and Donnie Get Married on New Year’s Eve at the Palm Event Center!

We had the pleasure of providing the Event Lighting and Décor for Rachel and Donnie’s New Year’s Eve wedding at the Palm Event Center last year, and we just got the pictures from Brandon Wong Photography (who is AWESOME by the way, you should totally check them out)! We had been working with Rachel and Donnie for about 6 months leading up to their wedding, and they had such a gorgeous view for the wedding that totally inspired us. We were able to provide a couple looks that we had never done before, and we are so excited to share them with you! We also want to give a HUGE thank you to Brandon and Katrina of Brandon Wong Photography for taking such incredible photos of our work, and being so friendly and easy to work with.

sagapolu ceremony collage

Rachel and Donnie really wanted to create an intimate and romantic space in the Barrel Room for their ceremony, and having the drapery in the ceiling was a great way to achieve that look. Add some GOBO patterns down the aisle and a Custom Monogram GOBO on the wall, and we had achieved the look they were going for!

 chandelier collage

Rachel and Donnie had seen photos of our 12’x12′ beaded chandelier, and LOVED it….but they wanted to take it up a notch to create a dramatic centerpiece in the Ballroom. This was the perfect opportunity to nest our 9’x9′ beaded chandelier inside the 12’x12′! We are obsessed with how this chandelier photographs. It looks like rain!

Congratulations Rachel and Donnie! We wish you two nothing but happiness in your future together!

Hunnie and Peter’s Wedding at Casa Real at the Ruby Hill Winery

Hunnie and Peter tied the knot at Casa Real at the Ruby Hill Winery on September 1st, 2012, and we have been waiting with baited breath to get the images from one of our favorite photographers, the amazing Augie Chang. Anytime we work with Augie, we know that the photos are going to be GORGEOUS, and this wedding was no exception. We are so excited to share this beautiful wedding with you!

hunnie and peter

Hunnie and Peter had such a beautiful vision for their wedding, and we were honored that they chose us to make their vision come true. They knew that they wanted to transform Casa Real into a romantic and intimate space, and our double hung drapery and chandeliers were the perfect additions to make their dream a reality. They also augmented the design with some beautiful purple GOBO washes, table spotlights, and a custom monogram GOBO.

Hunnie and Peter certainly knew how to throw a party! Their guests were out grooving on the dance floor all night long. Our DJ Nick said it was one of the most energetic weddings he has ever DJed!

Jessica and Paulo’s Wedding at Casa Real!

Jessica and Paulo tied the knot on June 15th, 2012 at Casa Real. They chose to take advantage of the gorgeous weather, and decided to have their ceremony out in the Sun Garden. They then moved inside in the evening, and had their reception in the Grand Salon. They chose a romantic color scheme of champagne, blush pink, and ivory, and completely transformed the room!

We love this shot that Rhee of Rhee Bevere Photography captured, when Jessica and Paulo are seeing the Grand Salon for the first time. It’s such an amazing moment…because Jessica and Paulo designed their dream Event Lighting look, and seeing it all come together is so meaningful.

Rhee is always amazing to work with, and she was generous enough to share all the pictures with us! Let me tell you, it was SO hard to pick our favorites, because we had so many…luckily we were able to create these collages to showcase all of them!

Just look at that drapery! Jessica and Paulo were the first couple to utilize our double hung drapery, and it made such a statement behind their head table! They also used some uplighting to transform the color of our Ivory drapery to a blush pink.

Jessica and Paulo share the first dance, under our 12 Light Crystal Chandeliers, with a beautiful backdrop of drapery and GOBO patterns. They also designed their Custom Monogram GOBO, which you can see on the floor. They certainly created a lighting design that adds drama and romance to all of their photos!

I mean just look at all the different angles of the room…it’s stunning!

We want to wish Jessica and Paulo all the best in their future together, and thank them for not only picking us to be their Lighting vendor, but for creating such a beautiful design! It is so rewarding for us when we are able to make our client’s dreams come true!Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Brasil!

Livermore Valley Wine Growers Auction

This past Saturday, May 7th, we had the opportunity and privilege to provide the Sound, Event Lighting, Drapery, and DJ the 17th Annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction! One of our favorite wineries, Wente, played a huge role in this year’s event, by graciously donating their Barrel Room as the event’s venue. All the funds raised in the auction went to benefit the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation, Open Heart Kitchen, and the ValleyCare Foundation Mobile Health Unit. Click here to read more about this wonderful annual event!

Thank you to the Livermore Wine Growers Association for having us be a part of this amazing and chartitable event.

We had a great time!

Wedding Ideas…

Perhaps one of the coolest trends right now in the wedding world is the Winter Wonderland Wedding. There is something so magical about the winter season that lends itself perfectly into creating an enchanting evening for celebration. Now, I know it may be intimidating to get married in a season that already has an established theme, but don’t feel locked in by the Christmas aesthetic! Christmas is only a small part of the winter season, and although it might be cute to have a nod to Christmastime in some of your decorations or favors, there are plenty of other ideas you can use to transform your venue into a beautiful winter wonderland. I’m sure we all can’t get married in a ski lodge in Aspen surrounded by softly falling snow, but we can transfer some of those aspects to your wedding. To achieve that icy and snowy atmosphere, try using some uplights with icy blues and a wash of snowflakes, either on the walls or on the dance floor. Add some shimmering silver drapery and you’ve created an elegant aesthetic. It truly is a quick and easy way to effectively transform the appearance of any room. Furthermore, the color palette of a winter wedding should be kept simple. Typically, white would serve as the base color accented with silver and gold, but throwing in some icy blues and greens adds an unexpected, but still beautiful, touch.  You can also bring some winter magic to each table as well, by designing some beautiful floral centerpieces. Ask your florist to integrate some sparkly strings of rhinestones in your arrangements to create the look of ice. Also, if you plan on having taller centerpieces, find out if you can hang small candle votives from the branches. Such a simple touch will add a feeling of warmth, to contrast the iciness coming through from the drapery, uplights, and snowflakes. Of course, these are only a few simple ideas, but the sky is truly the limit! If you need some inspiration, check out these photos from a wedding Fantasy Sound Event Services did at the Palm Event Center.
