1. Ruby Hill

Established in 1887, Ruby Hill is a family-owned winery featuring 150 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and more. After finding red soil on the property, the original owner, John Crellin, gave the winery its famous name.

The Ruby Hill team leads with sustainability as they produce quality grapes for their visitors. They carefully tend to the vineyard by adjusting temperatures, watering, and hand-picking the best grapes.

This Livermore winery offers tasting flights for $25-$35. They also provide gourmet deli items, accessories, and apparel. Open every day, from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm, be sure to stop by on your next vacation.

    2. Elliston Vineyards

Elliston Vineyards is another historic property dating back to the 1890s. Some of their services include Elevated Sommelier Tastings, a 60-minute experience with premium wines and a custom menu, and Afternoon Tea with a three-course tea session.

In addition to their tastings, Elliston Vineyards hosts interactive classes where wine enthusiasts can learn about the winemaking process from professionals and create custom blends. Check out their website to find the perfect excursion for your weekend getaway.

    3. Wente Vineyards

Looking for an unforgettable wine tasting? Enjoy an afternoon at Wente Vineyards! This Tri-Valley vineyard takes guests on a unique ride with their Cave Tour & Barrel Tasting Experience. If you prefer to ease into a session, consider the Seated Wine Tasting Experience, which features five different wines, from Pinot Noir to Cabernet Franc.

Wente Vineyards also provides private reservations for The Barrel Room and Tee Time for our fellow golfers. After a full day, consider stopping by The Grill for a tasty bite. They serve lunch until 6:30 pm.

    4. Murrieta’s Well

For those who want a taste of France, be sure to visit Murrieta’s Well. This wine estate has grown grapes in the Livermore Valley since the 1800s using cuttings from French vineyards. Many of the original vines are still growing on the property today.

    Murrieta’s Well provides the following:

    • Terroir-To-Table Wine Pairing Experience: A five-course pairing of wines and dishes led by seasoned winemaker Robbie Meyer.
    • Library Wine Tasting Experience: A taste of five wines, from new releases to cellared library wines.
    • Walk-In Tasting Bar Experience: A relaxing tasting session in the barrel room or outdoor patio.
