Make the Most of Your Wedding Photo Booth

Adding a photo booth to your wedding is a wonderful way to enhance the guest experience with an interactive element that is sure to keep people engaged all night long. Plus, it’s a fun way to send everyone home with tokens from your big day. (Not to mention, you’ll have all the fun photos to look back on with your partner!)

Match your photo booth to your wedding theme.

Whether you’re hosting a black-tie gala-inspired bash or a rustic-chic celebration, your photo booth should be on-brand with the rest of your wedding decor! Consider how you can infuse your wedding theme into the backdrop, as well as the print photos. Most printouts can include a customizable monogram with your wedding date for an extra splash!

 

Provide plenty of photo booth props.

What’s a photo booth without props? Providing guests with silly props encourages them to really lean into the experience! From goofy accessories (like bowties and hats) to funny signs, don’t be shy! Many photo booth providers will include a set of props, but feel free to bring your own cheekiness to play and add your own touch.

 

Give guests a way to show off their pics.

There’s a good chance that your wedding photo booth will be a popular station for the whole night, so there will be plenty of great pictures coming from it! Consider creating a space for guests to post a copy of their photo strips. A frame with hanging clothespins, a chalkboard with magnets, or a pretty photo album are all great choices! Your guests will be able to flip through and see what everyone else has done. Plus, you’ll get to take those keepsakes home!

Making the Most of Your Photo Booth

Photo booths are wonderful party add-ons that will help get your wedding guests mingling. With the help of props and backdrops, your Big Day will get even bigger! If you’re thinking of having a photo booth at your wedding, there are many ways to make the most of your rental.

Let’s start with location! Setting up your photo booth in the right spot at your party is key. Make sure it’s out in the open as opposed to tucked away in a corner. In the same token, ensure that there are signs in place to let everyone know that there is fun to be had behind those velvet curtains.

Guests may be a little shy to approach the photo booth at first, so get the word out! Encourage your more outgoing party-goers to get in the booth and welcome others to tag along. Also, have your DJ or MC make an announcement to let everyone know where the booth is and that it’s absolutely free of charge.

Additionally you’ll want to think about how many guests will be attending your wedding. Couples planning larger weddings should consider renting two photo booths, which will help prevent long lines and allow guests to snap more pictures with the crowd.

Lastly, you can’t have a photo booth without fun props and custom backdrops! Check with your vendor to learn about their customization options or get creative on your own! Perhaps you could roll out a red carpet for an old Hollywood-themed photo booth experience or show love to your favorite sports teams with footballs and foam fingers – the possibilities are endless!

Elegant crystal chandeliers lit up Kirsten and Tobey’s ceremony area, along with their delicate selection of floating candles in glass vases.

Crystal chandeliers also played a part in the reception, as did a soft GOBO print wash on the dance floor. Kirsten, Tobey, and their family and friends made great use of the dance floor (lots of happy, sore feet at the end of the night!) and we loved having the opportunity to DJ for them! Their playlist was on point and even the guest requests were lots of fun. 🙂

Phillips/Mikel Wedding at the Martinelli Event Center

 

Jodi Phillips and Matt Mikel became Mrs. and Mr. Mikel in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Martinelli Event Center on August 6th, 2011. It was a sunny and warm August day, without a single cloud in the sky. Jodi and Matt are a very energetic couple, and that energy definitely shined through during their ceremony. They exchanged jokes and laughter, which of course led to both Jodi and Matt shedding some happy tears.

 

 

The party moved in to the Banquet Room at the Martinelli Event Center, where the color palette of chocolate and ivory looked stunning with the amber uplighting and GOBO washes. Jodi and Matt’s energy was magnified throughout the reception, and it seemed as though everyone was bit by the energy bug! Jodi’s father gave a speech that was absolutely hilarious, and he brought the house down with laughter. The guests all had a great time in the photo booth, which was provided by D. Lillian Photography. She was the photographer for the wedding as well, and she provided all the pictures on this blog. We had an AMAZING time working with her! Our DJ, Marshall, made sure to keep everyone on the dance floor, busting a move until the late hours of the evening. The bridal party made sure to get in on the action, by standing on the chairs at the head table and getting their groove on to Ke$ha’s “Your Love Is My Drug”. The real crowd-pleaser, however, was when the groom’s mother was introduced to the Oak Ridge Boys’ classic hit “Elvira”. The dance floor was packed, as every single guest at the wedding joined the bridal party in line-dancing.
