Tell us a bit about your professional background. What brought you to the event industry?
After nearly a decade in the beauty industry working both behind the chair as a hands-on stylist and nationally as an Artistic Director, I felt inspired to create something bigger. In 2008, I opened Status Salon & Beauty Agency What began with me personally styling brides for their hair and makeup soon grew beyond what I could manage alone. I realized that I wanted to ensure every client—even those I couldn’t personally accommodate—received the same level of artistry, professionalism, and care. That passion for excellence and client experience is what ultimately led me into the event industry.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the creativity—getting to play with different styles and looks while also teaching through our Agency Academy. I love being surrounded by such an amazing glam squad and watching them grow into their own artistry—it’s honestly one of the most rewarding parts. And of course, the experiences are unbeatable—traveling to gorgeous locations, meeting clients from all over the world, and being part of their special moments never gets old.
What’s the most memorable reaction you’ve ever experienced from a couple on their wedding day?
One of my favorite memories has to be with our lovely bride Lauren. During the reception, we snuck her away for a surprise haircut, and when she ran back onto the dance floor to her favorite song, her new husband’s face was absolutely priceless. The shock, the laughter, the joy—it was such a fun and unforgettable moment that we’ll always remember!
If you could share one planning tip with an engaged couple, what would you tell them?
My biggest tip is this: the week of your wedding, carve out time for just the two of you. Go have a meal together—whether at home or at your favorite restaurant—and make one rule: NO wedding talk. It’s so easy to get caught up in the planning and forget what this moment is really about: the two of you. Instead, talk about your future, your bucket list, or even just laugh about everyday life. My husband and I did this before our wedding, and 11 years later, it’s still one of my favorite date nights ever.
