Krista is a classically trained professional harpist with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in harp music for weddings and upscale events throughout the Bay Area. Her repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary.

We asked Krista to tell us about what inspired her to pursue a career in weddings and how she got started in the industry.

I first started doing weddings in Southern California when I graduated from college with my music degree in harp performance. I had a few years of experience performing for weddings and special events by the time Disney FairyTale Weddings reached out to me. They asked if I’d like to be the main harpist for their wedding department and special events throughout the parks and resorts. I learned a lot about weddings and customer service when I worked with Disney and loved every minute of it. Now a Bay Area resident, I enjoy working with couples to customize their music to fit the vibe they are looking for. I’ve had clients that request everything from Zelda Video themes to Game of Thrones to popular hits/Top 40 that are currently trending. I’m always happy to play the classical standards as well.

Krista also shared what her favorite part about being in weddings is.

I love being directly involved with my couples regarding the music selections, to see how thrilled they are when they hear their favorite songs on the harp. I often have brides (and mothers-of-the-brides!) reaching for the tissues as they imagine themselves walking down the aisle to the harp music as I play them samples.

Krista is also sharing the one piece of advice she likes to give couples planning their wedding.

Plan ahead as much as possible, but don’t get hung up on the details or any last minute emergencies the day of the wedding, let your coordinator and vendors do the work now.. just let go and enjoy it!
